Will it weigh down fine hair?
No. The formula is built on a lightweight emulsion base that hydrates without the heavy slip that flattens fine hair. The conditioning agents (behentrimonium chloride, cetrimonium chloride) work by neutralising the negative charge on hair strands rather than coating them with oils, so it smooths and softens without buildup. For the lightest finish, apply only from mid-lengths to ends and rinse thoroughly.
How long should I leave it on?
1-2 minutes is enough for daily use. The active conditioning ingredients absorb quickly and don't need extended contact time. For a deeper conditioning session, 5-10 minutes once a week works well, especially after a heavier wash. Leaving it on much longer than that doesn't add benefit, as the strand can only absorb so much in one application.
Can I use it without the shampoo?
Yes. The conditioner stands on its own as a daily-use formula. It's designed to complement Density Shampoo specifically: both share the same botanical complex (ginger, clover, Thuja, Artemisia) so the scalp environment stays consistent through the wash and the conditioning step. Used together, the routine reinforces itself.
Is it safe for coloured hair?
Yes. The conditioner is sulphate-free and paraben-free, and the silicone derivative is chosen for colour retention rather than buildup. Colour-treated hair often needs more moisture and a gentler approach, both of which Density Conditioner is designed to deliver. The botanical complex is also gentle enough for chemically processed hair.
Does it protect against heat styling?
It includes some heat protection through the PEG-40/PPG-8 Dimethicone Copolymer, which forms a thin protective film over the strand. For low-to-medium heat like hair dryers and light curling, that's typically enough. For higher heat (straighteners or curling wands above 180°C), layer a dedicated heat protectant on top before styling. The conditioner supports high-heat protection but doesn't replace it.
