Before you switch shampoos.
Common questions before adding Density Shampoo to your routine.
How often should I use Density Shampoo?
As often as you wash your hair. The formula is sulphate-free and gentle enough for daily use without stripping the scalp barrier. Most users wash every day or every second day depending on lifestyle, activity level, and how oily their scalp gets. The cleansing system is designed to lift residue without triggering the rebound oil production that aggressive shampoos cause, so increasing frequency won't backfire.
Is it safe for coloured or chemically treated hair?
Yes. The formula is sulphate-free, so it won't strip dye the way supermarket cleansers can. The conditioning agents include a refined silicone derivative chosen for colour retention without buildup, plus panthenol and hyaluronic acid that help the strand hold moisture between washes. The botanical complex is also gentle enough for chemically processed hair.
Will it work on an oily scalp?
Yes. The cleansing system uses mild surfactants like sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate and cocoyl isethionate, which lift excess sebum and DHT-related buildup without irritating the scalp barrier. Aggressive shampoos often cause a rebound effect where the scalp produces more oil to compensate for being stripped. The gentler approach typically results in less oil over time, not more.
What about a dry or sensitive scalp?
Sensitive and dry scalps usually find Density Shampoo gentler than what they're used to. Sodium hyaluronate draws moisture into the scalp, niacinamide reinforces the barrier, and panthenol coats and softens. There are no sulphates, parabens, or harsh foaming agents. If your scalp is actively irritated or compromised, wait until it has settled before introducing any new product.
Can I use it without conditioning afterwards?
Yes, the shampoo stands alone. Density Conditioner is built with the same botanical complex and is designed to extend the scalp-balancing effect from the wash through to the strand. Without conditioning, fine or coloured hair may feel drier than ideal. With it, the routine compounds: clean scalp, protected strand, primed for the serum.
